One name. Two peoples. Two worlds.
When people hear “McGregor,” most think of Scotland — and they are not wrong. But there is another McGregor story, an older and deeper one, written on this side of the ocean. This is that story.
Clan MacGregor — Scotland, Europe
Clan MacGregor is found in Europe, in Scotland — that side of the world. Their heritage is Highland heritage: the crest, the tartan, the old Scottish ways. That is their lane, and we respect it.
McGregor Clan Sovereign Maroon Tribe — Turtle Island, the Americas
We are the McGregor Clan Sovereign Maroon Tribe, and we are found in Turtle Island — the land the world now calls the Americas.
Our people came when this land was still called Turtle Island. In the place now called Jamaica — then called Xaymaca — we were known as the Maroons. In the United States, we are known as the Cherokee. In Canada, we are known as the Micmac and the Algonquin.
One tribe. Many nations. One bloodline stretching across Turtle Island.
Two Flags, One Tribe
The Sovereign Maroon Tribe bears two flags — and they represent one organization:
- The flag without the maple leaf represents our people across the Americas — the United States, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and all other parts of the Americas.
- The flag with the maple leaf represents our people in Canada, where our head office stands alongside our Maroon family.
Two flags. Same tribe. Same sovereignty. Same royal blood.
Royal Is My Race
Whether in Scotland or in Turtle Island, the McGregor bloodline traces back to ancient royalty — the descendants of Kenneth MacAlpin, the first King of Scotland. Same ancient root. But our story, our sovereignty, and our future are written here, in the Americas.
We are the McGregor Clan Sovereign Maroon Tribe. Royal is my race. And this is the heritage woven into every piece at McGregor Clan Clothing — take 15% off with code MCGREGOR15.
